Fireworks and Desserts

The Myst Lounge- Niagara Falls Hilton

We came to Niagara to do some exploring and see Independence Day fireworks.  We found the spot at the top of the Hilton South Tower, floor 33 the up to the Pent House 1, Myst Lounge.

Here you find the perfect spot to watch the Niagara Falls fireworks display.  Great food, and you can see fireworks going off all across the horizon.  It's fantastical. From 9:15-10:45 the fireworks went all across the U.S. And there was a spectacular display right off of the Canadian shore.

I also experienced the wondrous and spectacular dessert. It was called the Nutella Crunch Cream Cake. Delicious. Melted in your mouth. With a solid chocolate rim, a mysterious and delicious creamy yet crunchy filling, and a pure inch of Nutella at the bottom, it was a chocolate lovers dream come true.

All in all, it was a little pricey. Then again, we also had 3 appetizers, 8 drinks, and 2 desserts. The appetizers were amazing. Particularly the delicious Goat Cheese Crostini, and I don't like goat cheese.

Definitely a great pick for an awesome meal and a spectacular show.

Mel's Dinor Restaurant

Mel's Dinor is in Newmarket, on Mulock. It's a cute little place to go for all day breakfast, and lunch too.

We ordered a Peameal Bacon Omelette, 2 of the Spinach Bacon Omelette Special, and a side of bacon. the perfect amount to fill four hungry mouths. Most of the all day meals come with 3 eggs, home fries, toast and jam, and tea or coffee. The coffee is great, and so is the food, but the best part, for myself, was the toast. It tasted AMAZING.

Mel's Dinor is a family-owned business with good prices and friendly people. But it's a bit small... So make sure you only bring part of the family.. Hosting parties there may not be suggested. But the family business makes the size not a problem. Usually there's not much of a wait, and, most of the time, all of the 9 tables are full.

I will definitely be returning there to have another meal. Be sure to stop by for a bite if your ever in need of a quick meal!

Hanson's

Today we went to Hanson's. Hanson's is a family restaurant at Kennedy and Aurora Road. It has Chinese food and great pizza. It's a local place, and a definite 'must come back'.
We have been to Hanson's before. It's just down the road from us. Today we had an individual pizza, Bok-choy, hot and sour soup, garlic bread with cheese, and Cesar salad!
The best restaurant. It's not very homey anymore. They had total renovations to make it more fancy. You MUST GO HERE. It is the best!!!

Shoeless Joe's Part 3: Dessert and Final Reveiw

The kids got dessert, a choice of Oreo cookies or strawberry/orange Jell-O. The Oreos got the icing licked out of them and then were left. Layla complains that the Jell-O tasted like dish soap and afterwards had a bit of a stomach ache.

The service was terrible. We had to wait 10 minutes for someone to actually come ad take our order. With that, we had to call them anyways. Two people had passed by us, and we felt kind of ignored. The food came substantially fast.

It was a reasonable price. About$60. With an alcoholic drink included.

The food was good, desserts not so much.
Come here when your feeling patient or you are in no rush. And DON'T get a dessert off of the kids menu.
Blog u Later!

Shoeless Joe's Part 2 the Meal

The meal was very good. Filling too. Tess enjoyed her salad. Ben easily finished his fries and loved his ribs, coleslaw is gone too. Sophia didn't enjoy her wing's very much but ate her fries. Layla quickly finished her root beer and ate her chicken fingers in delight. She needed Sophia to help out a bit with the mashed potatoes due to the gravy not being there. With the kids meals, they got a celery stick and a carrot stick. So, it's partly healthy too.
Read part 3 to get the dessert, price and final review.

Shoeless Joe's Part 1: Ordering

We have arrived for dinner at yet another restaurant. Everyone has been grazing over the menu and trying to decide what to eat. The possible finals are...

Tess: the Seared Tuna Salad!! With a water. Oooh!

Benjie: a Half Rack of Ribs, Spicy, with a Sangria. Fancy!

Sophia: Wings and French Fries with a Kool-Aid. Yummy!

Layla: forced with a debate consisting of the Pasta with Rosé sauce OR nice and easy Chicken Fingers with a Root Beer and Mashed potatoes. Mmm!

Layla has decided!!! Going with the Chicken Fingers!

And we have ordered. Read Part 2 to see how the food tasted and what our review of this restaurant is....

Daybreak - Newmarket Ontario

Today we went out for breakfast. Well, it could be considered lunch. We had six people with us and we weren't prepared. First, we ordered 4 meals and thought that would conclude us. Kids meal, 2 waffles, and 'The BIG Breakfast'. The food arrived and everyone wanted more. We ended up getting an extra kids meal and another egg. The home fries everyone loved, and the eggs were a favourite as well. Waffles went fast. The only thing we brought home were the pancakes, due to having too many and them being the size of our faces. With our waffles we got whipped cream and strawberries in sauce, a kids request. They went for the whipped cream.Strawberries, not so much. We would definitely come back here again. A great family place.

Just a note, the coffee is kind of bitter. Reasonably priced.
